So what actually happens?
For many a homeopathic consultation can be quite a different experience.
Initial consultations can take between 1 hour to an 1 1/4 hours for adults and a maximum of 1 hour for children. With subsequent appointments lasting 3/4 hour for adults and 30 minutes for children.
A follow up appointment usually takes place at intervals of 4-6 weeks depending on the individual and the severity of the condition.
At this time, we discuss what has happened since we last saw one another, what changes have occurred and what the situation is now.
Some Clients come back saying that they have not noticed anything, but often the changes have been so gradual and delicate that it is not until the follow up do they realise what actually has happened.
The follow up is also the opportunity to fine tune the remedy if necessary and to look at other influencing factors such as diet, exercise, stress as all aspects of our life may have an influence on our health.
I'm close and convenient to many locations in Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey, including Bracknell, Wokingham, Camberley, Yateley, Ascot and Frimley.
Why such a long appointment?
It might seem an awful long time, to those more used to seeing their GP.
BUT Homeopathy works best when the "whole person" is considered, not just the presenting symptoms or complaint. Therefore, details of all symptoms are noted and questions relating to general physical, mental and emotional character are required;
eg: what you like, dislike.
Can I still see my GP?
Yes, I see homeopathy as a complementary medicine, rather than an alternative! I find that it works well alongside conventional medicine and will not affect any medicine that you may be prescribed. Your health is important to me, and I often suggest to my clients that checking back with their medical practitioner may be necessary.
Should I stop taking my medication from the Doctor?
Definitely not. This is a decision for you and your Doctor. Only he/she knows why it has been prescribed. Some prescription mediciines, such as HRT or Steroids may make homeopathic treatment slower and more difficult, but if I am aware of what medication a Client is on, I may adjust my homeopathic prescription accordingly.

Then what happens?
After careful analysis of all this information, I will then decide on a course of action, which I might prescribe immediately, or might be sent later by post. For some this may mean tablets for others a liquid remedy; and for some a combination of both homeopathic and flower essence remedies.
Is that it?
I believe that the remedy works as a catalyst stimulating the body's own natural healing abilities. There is a lot of talk these days about detoxifying our bodies, going on "detox diets", getting rid of toxins. You could say that the remedies do this by encouraging the body to get rid of things that it finds harmful, and which have shown up as "complaints, symptoms or illness".
What about Hayfever, Eczema, Hormonal Issues, Molluscum.....????
Yes. Although I always ask the reason why someone has chosen to try Homeopathy, I use this more as a place to start rather than the focal point of my approach. Each person is individual, therefore each response to a situation is different. I may see 5 people all suffering with hayfever in one week, but they may all receive a different remedy.
Although the best time to look at the underlying reasons for hayfever is winter, there are many remedies that may help deal with a sufferer's symptoms during the peak season.
What if I'm pregnant? What about my baby? What age?
Yes, I see all ages from the almost born (or the Pregnant Mother) to the elderly. The safe and gentle nature of homeopathic remedies may have helped alleviate many of the problems of pregnancy, childbirth and childhood. I am regularly asked to talk to pregnant mums about homeopathy during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond.
